Sadie has a passion for art and likes to vlog the process of her artwork. Just as she begins to gain her confidence to film outside of her bedroom, someone she once called a friend decides to bring her down a level at school.
Director Statement
The purpose of Sunny Blues is to highlight the profound impact bullying can have on individuals, showing how it erodes a person’s confidence and passion, turning activities they once enjoyed into sources of pain and disinterest. Bullying remains a growing issue in Australia, affecting one in four young people each year. I hope our encourages you to reflect on your own life and embrace kindness towards those around you. Consider the experiences of those who have endured similar situations and put a stop to bullying.
About the Partnership
Sunny Blues was made as a collaboration with Late Night Productions. Our editor and post production producer Anya Dunstone worked with the director Leticia Ng on the films conceptual development as a creative head, Producer & Editor. Leticia strives to create stories that raise awareness for important issues and tell authentic, distinctive Australian stories. Leticia is on track to graduate from the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 2026.
Awards
Anya was awarded SF3 & WIFT NSW Best Female Creative Award Her work on Sunny Blues earning her a mentorship with the wonderful people at WOMEN IN FILM AND TELEVISION NSW. Which is a wonderfull achievement that will greatly enhance her capabilities and provide her vital development opportunities.
